Fringe Fashion Show at New York Fashion Week
There are plenty of fringe Fashion Shows taking place during New York Fashion Week… The Mister happened upon one of them at a hotel roof in Midtown. The relatively-unknown designer, Maggie McGrath, was putting on a presentation of her label (Regien) spring/summer 2013 collection. Above are some images that he snapped at the show.
Fashion’s Night Out: Not Quite What it Used to Be
After venturing out last night during Fashion’s Night Out, I have to say that the event is not what is used to be. The atmosphere on the streets (at least where I was: 57th St and Fifth Ave) had none of the excitement and electricity as previous years. Many of the high-end designers in the area really scaled back this year. Tiffany’s was pretty empty. No events there. Unlike last year’s spectacle, where the store set up a disco on the main floor. Gucci and Prada weren’t doing anything either. Anna Wintour and Hamish Bowles were the only celebs inside Prada. Other than that, there was a pianist but none of the festive bubbly to accompany the music.
Fashion’s Night Out 2012

As many of you already know, Fashion’s Night Out takes place tonight… The fete first launched four years ago in New York City to boost the economy during a recession. It’s now become the kickoff to New York Fashion Week… This year, hundreds of cities in 19 countries are planning to participate. Here in New York, more than 700 stores will stay open late offering free treats, special deals and champagne flutes. While wandering around town, you might catch sight of a few celebrities and, of course, some fashion designers. For more info, go to the official event website. For those of you planning to venture out – Have fun!
