As we enter the final days of the Barneys Warehouse Sale, the discounts get deeper and the crowds get bigger. Friday was apparently a madhouse, especially in the afternoon. A friend stopped in after work to see the offerings. He managed to snag a photo of the price list for us (see above). He tells us that the men’s selection was pretty good. He made out with four pairs of trousers, a tie and a pair of ankle boots.
As you can see from the price list, women’s designer (with the red star on tags) is now an additional 60 percent off (WHSE stamped items at 75%). Women’s ready-to-wear is also an extra 60 percent off and women’s shoes are 50 percent off the sale price (BLUE stamped shoes are 75% off). Let us know if you make it into the sale this weekend and if you score on any deals…
Yesterday, sale prices were slashed further at the Barneys Warehouse Sale. Take an extra 50 percent off women’s designer items with the “red” stamp (75% off WHSF stamped items); women’s ready-to-wear is now 50 percent off; women’s shoes is also an additional 40 percent off (BLUE stamped footwear is an extra 60% off).
While many of us are waiting for the Barneys Warehouse Sale, this weekend’s end-of-season sale being held at the boutiques, Project No. 8 and No. 8b, is well worth the trip. I checked out the goods yesterday and found some fabulous deals. The women’s shop, Project No. 8, [...]
If you’re looking for clothing for the little one, you’d better head over to Chelsea Market toute de suite where Privé is hosting a sample sale with items from the French label Petit Bateau. I have a couple of nieces and a nephew so I’m always on the look out for gifts for them. Plus, a friend of mine just had a baby and she’s a huge fan of Petit Bateau. The sale started on Thursday. Friday, the space was buzzing with moms and dads (some even brought their babies) looking for deals. It was still well stocked with plenty of merchandise for both boys and girls (newborns, toddlers and teens). The girls and boys items are separated in two different sections of the space – all are sorted by size in boxes.
Yesterday’s press preview almost wiped out the Proenza Schouler sale. And this morning what ever was left has probably been picked through by PS fans. I literally had 15 minutes to look first thing this morning and it was madness – the morning rush was in full force. By 9:30am, there was already a [...]
I can spend hours at a flea market, looking for treasures. The Brooklyn Flea is one of my favorite places to find the most interesting things at affordable prices. The market draws about 200 vendors, selling a mix of new and used goods. You’ll find an assortment of [...]
Today is the last day of the Alice + Olivia sample sale. I stopped into the label’s shop across from Bryant Park yesterday to find quite a bit of merchandise left, including party frocks, fun tops, one-of-a-kind samples, sandals and kids wear. The sale price for everything is [...]
The Ralph Lauren sample sale for friends and family kicked off this morning at 9am at Soiffer Haskin. Just like previous sales, the line stretched down West 33rd street to 9th Avenue. The sale runs through tomorrow at 6pm. If you’re thinking of trying your luck at getting in, don’t bother. You [...]
French childrenswear label, Bonpoint, is hosting a sample sale this week. If you’re looking to outfit your little one or a friend’s child, this is a sale to check out. The label is known for its darling wares. As Artsy Anna reports, there were plenty of moms on the first day and tons of merchandise for 60 percent off…
In the last hour of the Bonpoint sale day one, an abundance of clothing and shoes remains for boys and girls of all sizes. Tidy racks separate clothing by gender and age group. Tables of folded knitwear are a bit messier but still fairly full. The space was busy with the after work crowd. At least 50 people stood on line to pay at the cash registers. A staffer told me that the sale has been mobbed all day and they expect the crowds to continue on Thursday. Items retailing for $8 are now $3 (although I saw nothing this inexpensive) and $400+ are $162. The sales associates tell me that they’ve put all the merchandise out and they will not be restocking. I asked about last day discounts and was told they “probably” will not be reducing prices.
I made it to the ToccaFriends & Family sale yesterday. There was no list so anyone who knew about the preview sale could have gone into the label’s showroom in Chelsea (it’s on the same floor as the Herion showroom). Today, the sale opens to the public.
While there was plenty of merchandise to be had at 60 to 85 percent off, there didn’t seem to be as much of a selection as previous sample sales. Let’s start with the frilly feminine frocks since that’s what Tocca is known for… I spotted plenty of fabulous spring/summer dresses. The only problem: most of the dresses are sample sizes (that means size 4 or 6). I found one rack for sizes 0 and 2 and another for sizes 8 and 12. Dresses on the majority of racks were sample sizes. I wasn’t really looking for a frock for me this time around. I wanted to get a cute dress for my niece. Despite the slim pickings, I managed to score on two darling pieces for her. I was also on the hunt for candles. They didn’t have my favorite scent Yma (Peruvian guava fruit combined with red currant) in the large candle ($20) so I settled for the Kyoto scented candle (the fragrance of Kinmokusei flowers). Small candles were going for $10.
