I love cashmere… just can’t get enough of it. And if you’re like me, you’ll have to check out the White + Warren one-day sample sale on Thursday. Don’t let the sweltering heat dissuade you.
This evening, I popped into the label’s spacious showroom that overlooks Bryant Park on West 40th Street. The staffers were just putting the finishing touches for tomorrow’s sample sale when one of them (Lauren) was kind enough to show me the goodies.
I must say there are lots of incredible deals here. Signature cashmere sweaters for $50 (that retailed from $195 to $265) – includes plenty of cable open cardigans (many still wrapped up in plastic), V-necks, crewnecks and a few of the stripe sweaters. Cotton and linen knits are $30, including the reversible beach sweater and the assymetrical drape top. Jackets are $40, pants are $30 and shorts $20.
Besides the production pieces, there are also actual samples starting at $10 for cashmere wrap scarves to $20 for cashmere sweaters. There’s a wide range of sizes, especially for the overstock items. Everything is organized, either hanging on racks or folded on tables and shelves. Also on offer are the cashmere travel wraps which are going for $100 (originally $275) available mainly in neutral colors.

Long time no post. I went in the early morning today, there was plenty of people already there but I feel that this one was not as great as the last SS. The last SS had real cashmere samples so they were much cheaper. I managed to grab a dress for $10 so I’m happy.
I was there in the morning. It wasn’t as cheap as I imagined. It was more organized fo sure than other sample sales. There’s also not that much left since everyone grabbed it early in the morning.
I got there around 9:20am. It was already pretty depleted. The last sale in April/May? was fantastic with tons and tons of samples. This one seemed more like an overstock sale and even that selection wasn’t so great. Not sure if they’re restocking but if they aren’t then I wouldn’t bother going at this point.

I got there at 8:55 and there was already a long line. The ladies were rushing to the sample racks and grabbing tons of items once the door opened. No wonder JD found the stock pretty depleted by 9:20. Still managed to find a very versatile long black cardigan. Overall I have to say I prefer the Mai Cashmere sample sale much better than this one.

Hi Sheilaa – White+Warren just had a sale back in April. However, the did have a one-day blowout sale last July. Depending on overstock, they may have another this month. If I hear of anything, I’ll make sure to let you guys know…
