A couple of our contributors coincidentally ventured into the Kiki de Montparnasse sale in Soho yesterday and sent us their findings… One of them, Fashionable Femme Jen, has never been inside. As you’ll read, Jen’s visit did not disappoint:
Glamourous, provocative, daring and profound are four words that come to mind when I think of Kiki de Montparnasse. One number—75%—just made those words more affordable. You’ll find the sale on the second floor of the store on Greene Street and everything is currently 75% off retail, except for one rack (mostly leggings), which is 50% off.
When you walk into the shop, just take the stairs to the right as you enter to surround yourself with uniquely silky, lacy and luxurious intimates. Items of note are the French lesson panties—a steal at $18.75 (normally $75), the Erotic black pencil skirt—on sale for $223.75 (normally $895) and Muse lace short –attractively priced at $106.25 (normally $425). Racks are fully stocked with robes, nighties, sexy intimates, and even a table of novelties! Sizing runs from XXS to L and there is an abundance of smaller sizes available. There are changing rooms for try-ons. The staffers are available to answer your questions.

The other shopper was Deme who’s attended the sexy shop’s sales before. While she found the deals to be better in the past, she does point out that this time’s markdowns weren’t too bad:
I was expecting a sample sale (with one-of-a-kinds) but they’re calling this a “warehouse sale.” I didn’t spot any samples. Last time, they had actual samples and pricing was better. Items I bought for $75 or $50 are now $125 ($500 retail) or $175 ($700 retail). Still, I think the bargains are pretty good and there was much more inventory and sizing then in previous sales. General pricing looks like this: Lace leggings at $85.50 (was $350), panties $11.50 to $71.25 (was $45 to $285), Bras starting at $50 (were $200-$300), silk tops at around $56.25 (was $225), cotton tops at $31.25 ($125) and silk dresses at $75 and up (were $300).

Hi Pam – that depends on whether they have tons left over… from the looks of the photos from Jen & Deme, they have plenty of merchandise.
I spoke with someone from the store this afternoon, and it doesn’t sound like there will be discounts. Of course, we could all be surprised come Sunday, but I doubt it!

Did they extend the sale or was it over this weekend?
When I left at ~7:15pm Sunday the door was already locked. They always close earlier than stated. Also I overheard the sales girl saying the sale would not be extended. But give them a call.
