The Label Whore Duly Obliges on the Isaia Napoli Sale…

After the urging of one determined reader… our Larry the Label Whore attended the Isaia Napoli sample sale in the Flatiron which kicked off yesterday.  Larry describes a very disappointing sale:

For those Isaia fans out there, you will be both happy and disappointed. If you’re looking for a suit, you’re in luck there are a good number of suits in different sizes, but it will set you back $895-$995. Not worth it, in my opinion, when you can get other Made in Italy suits at the department stores or Centruy 21.

Shoes weren’t a big selection. There were a few racks of shoes such as Oxfords, loafers, and wingtips that will set you back $200 with some sneakers mixed priced at $100. Neither are worth it. Very small selection of knits and sweaters with only medium and large sizes. An important note:  Most of the “cashmere” sweaters (not a lot on offer) were a blend of 70% cashmere and 30% silk. There were a large selection of dress shirts in bins and on racks, but for $145 definitely not worth it. There were only a few belts next to a few lonely pairs of jeans. Nothing that caught my eye.

Next to the racks of dress shirts was a corner for dress pants. Pants were tagged at $150. Again… not worth it when you think back to last week’s YSL sale where pants were reduced to $75. Also, beware there are no signs describing what’s on the coat racks. I couldn’t tell which jackets were which. You’ll have to scour through the racks to find cashmere or sport coats. There weren’t any scarfs, but there were many pocket squares at the front counter.

All in all, I would skip this sale unless they offer further reductions. However, I was told they wouldn’t be reducing nor would they be restocking, but I never really believe them. Most of the merchandise was bare and the sale prices were way too much.
