Tomorrow (Tuesday), NYC-based designer, Lauren Moffatt, opens her Garment District studio for a two-day sample sale. I stopped into today’s Friends & Family preview. Lauren’s VP of sales, Tracy, took me through some of the choice items on the racks. There were great colorways, just in time for summer such as one top that reminded Tracy of eating ice cream in the summer…
The sale features pieces from the spring 2012 collection with dresses at $130 and tops, skirts, shorts & swimwear will be tagged at $90.

I am starting to understand what crazed means! 130 for samples? Over at racked they are trying to start a boycott of these new higher priced sample sales. I have noticed this trend. Someone recently told me that bc of dragging retail sales, manufactures are trying to make up sales in sample sales. People get caught up in the fervor and buy more than tgey woukd at a dept store plus they don’t have to deal with returns…..depressing. They told je that’s the reason jcrew moved to 260 as clothingline accepted returns and jcrew wanted final sale.
