If you’re looking for Holiday gifts for little ones, try hitting up the fun French label, Petit Bateau’s overstock sale. Over the weekend, I ventured into the large space on Chambers Street in Tribeca. There were quite a few shoppers (including parents with their kids) snapping up deals. Merchandise is 50 to 60 percent off retail for infant’s, children’s and women’s wear. Everything is organized by size in bins or hanging on racks.

You’ll find onsies for under $20, blankets for $25, girls dresses for $35, boys tees for $20, boys pants for $30 and more. Some of the items were still a bit pricey such as a girl’s sweater going for $75. And if you’re a fan of the label, items for women are on offer: tees for $12, knitted striped sailor tops for $70 (trop cher) and plain long-sleeved and short-sleeved T-shirts for under $30. Pricing was a bit confusing since the sale organizers had no price list up and items weren’t marked. You had to bring your stuff to the cash register and find out what the sale price was for each item. But overall, staffers were very helpful. They told me that they would be replenishing through the sale which goes until the end of the month. This Tuesday and Friday, they plan to bring in more merchandise.
Where/When: 105 Chambers Street, 2nd floor (@ Church Street). Thru November 29 Daily (8:30-6:30p).

Still expensive. 50% of retail is what the actual store on Madison offers when on sale. Century 21 is cheaper for Petit Bateau!
