NL Showroom near Union Square is hosting a multi-designer sample sale of clothing and jewelry. Taking part are Marie-Lise Lachapelle (a line of jewelry inspired by the elements), Mimi and Coco (high-quality RTW all made in Italy) and Verlaine (an edgy avant-garde collection of couture and RTW for women).
I stopped in tonight while the staffers were still setting up. I managed to shoot video of the some of the pieces, mostly Verlaine’s spring/summer 2011 collection which is going for 70-percent off retail. Some of the pieces on offer include: the Momi silk tank ($85); the single seam one-shoulder dress ($199); the Möbius strip dress ($449); the square convertible vest ($236); the backless Aphrodite gown ($599) and the off shoulder cross back gown ($350).
In addition, I captured a few of Marie-Lise Lachapelle’s jewelry on camera. We’ve shot video of her bijou in the past when she’s had a trunk show at AvaMaria in Soho. Here are some of the pricing for this sale: the orchid necklace is $175, the mixed metal pearl necklace is $120, the orchid earrings are $200.
Also featured in the video above are a just few tanks from Mimi and Coco which start at $20. Since sale organizers were still setting up, I wasn’t able to shoot the full offerings at the sample sale which starts tomorrow.
Where/When: 39 W. 14th St, #408 (b/w 5th & 6th Streets). Aug 11 to 13. Daily (11-7pm). If you plan to check out the sale, the organizers would prefer you RSVP to inquiries@nlshowroom.com.
