The highly popular Rag & Bone sample sale is taking place this weekend at Chelsea Market – a much more spacious location than the usual tight spots at the label’s two stores on Christopher Street. This new space is great for shoppers (specifically the brand’s female fans) who had to squeeze into a tiny area at previous sales where the wait for the women’s dressing room was ridiculous. Here, Rag & Bone’s pieces are nicely organized and spaced out.
You’ll find items from the spring/summer 2010 collection, including tees at $45, denim is $95, dresses are $175 and jackets $225. At the end of the day Thursday, while there was still plenty of product – the selection was already thinning, especially for sizes. I had my eye on a cotton knit strappy dresses ($115) that were folded on a table. But when I asked a sales associate to check for my size, she told me that they only had the two pieces left. Same for a pair of suede leggings ($195) which they had only one left in a size 24.
There were still plenty of blazers ($175 to $225), stacks of jeans ($95), button-down shirts ($115) and pants ($115). The selection for dresses, knits and skirts were picked through. As for shoes ($85 to $195), I found canvas wedges, ballet flats and boots. There was an empty $50 sale rack, except for the lonely knit dress hanging from it. No word on whether they will be bringing in new merchandise through Sunday when the sale ends.
Where/When: Chelsea Market, 75 Ninth Ave., nr. 16th St.; Thru Sunday June 27; F (11–8), S (noon–6), Su (noon–5).

They told us last night there would be a small amount of new stock coming in at noon Friday.
