Swiss-owned clothing line, GANT, kicks off its sample sale today at 260 Fifth Avenue. The location was moved to this bigger space after sale organizers realized they had tons of merchandise. While the sale offers items for women, men and kids – Fashionable Femme Jen tells us it’s really more of a sale for the gents. She attended yesterday’s preview and gives us her report:

Racks and racks of clothes fill the space on Fifth Avenue as the Gant sample sale swings into gear yesterday afternoon. Long-sleeve rugbys, short-sleeve polos, wooly sweaters, winter jackets, casual pants, and button down shirts are in full stock for men. Size large for men seems to have the most choice at this sale, though other sizes are fairly represented. There’s certainly variety in both style and sizing and an overwhelming amount of merchandise.

Highlights include a children’s size L cream and blue button down shirt with a front ruffle for $20 and a men’s orange vee sweater priced at $50 (orig. $145). Racks and racks of button down Rugger shirts (orig. $115+) with stripes, plaid and solids are available at 60% off discount. For the ladies, there are a couple blazers, a handful of jackets and a rack of blue patterned wrap dresses (mostly Medium). I also saw a couple wooly A-line skirts and plaid pleated skirts. Belts, scarves, bookbags and hats line the dozen or so bins of accessories. From today’s taste, this is more of a men’s sale, so come out and stock up for the dads, boyfriends, brothers or others in time for the Holidays!
