French Underwear Label, Pull-In, Sample Sale

The French underwear line, Pull-In, is moving its store to the Lower East Side later this month… As part of the move, the shop is clearing out its Bowery location with a sample sale. On Friday, Fashionable Femme Jen stumbled on the sale. The brand’s playful designs gave her a much-needed distraction after finishing a busy week at work. Here’s her report:

As I walk home after an exhausting work-week, a big red “Sample Sale 70% off” sign catches my eye. Curiosity—and a bright pink romper with bright yellow bananas—gets the best of me. Inside, I’m greeted by a mannequin in sushi PJ’s and hundreds of pairs of pleasantly patterned Pull-In underwear, sleepwear and swimwear. Despite heavy fatigue, I can’t help but smile.

After two years on the Bowery, French underwear brand Pull-In is moving its store to Orchard Street and clearing sample stock at 70% off. Bright colors, adorable patterns and flattering fits are distributed in a couple dozen boxes around the store. Sizing is mostly M for men and S for women, though sizes XS to XL are scantily represented (Keep in mind that European sizing usually runs a bit snug). All merchandise is 70% unless otherwise marked.

For men: underwear, belts, sleepwear, swimwear, and t-shirts are available in Marvel comic print, geometric shapes, fruits, foods and other funky favorites. For the ladies, there is quite a variety of underthings (DaTai , Kirra, Hype, Moon, and Tanga styles), loungewear (cocoon, midnight and doudou styles), bras (underwire and bralet styles) and t-shirts in an endless assortment of cute. Kids have a decent selection of PJ’s and underwear as well. A small section of men’s and women’s jeans sits on a shelf, though the focus of this sale is definitely underwear. Most of the merchandise are true samples.

Stirred by my inner child, I immediately fall in love with a pair of bright pink Da Tai style panties with green cartoon alligators. Move over La Perla, the underwear drawer is getting a couple refreshing new additions. This is my first experience with the brand and I am won over by the combination of comfort and fun, not to mention the terrific sales staff. Highlights for women include a pair of size S DouDou shorts style in Piou bird print for $9 (orig. $29.99), an aqua colored Da Tai panty in a loveable cartoon dessert print for $9 (orig. $29.99), a Hype thong with a colorful day of the dead pattern for $9 (orig. $29.99), and an Isa bralet in red velvet with black sequins for $16.50 (orig. $49.99).

Highlights for men include limited edition superhero adorned boxer briefs from the Marvel collaboration in XS to XL (CaptainMarvel, VilainMarvel, SizeMarvel, etc.) and retro styles for $20, board shorts with brightly colored stripes or endearing prints for $23.70 (orig. $78.99), and size medium briefs in solid colors for $7.50. Kids’ collection offerings include a pair of Youngblood dark purple boy’s briefs with yellow bananas for $8.10 (orig. $26.99) and little girl’s Betty style panties in Cupcake and Ikone.

Shoppers have until the end of month to pick up discounted merchandise and I highly recommend adding an element of fun to your underwear drawer!
