Before the doors opened to the public this morning, Artsy Anna managed to get a sneak peak at the pieces on sale at Morgane Le Fay where deals of up to 80 percent off retail can be had. Here’s Anna’s report:
…They were still setting up as I did my run through but it looks like this sale has some solid scores. Lovely knit dresses in short and long styles run $100 to $450. Comfy coats, jackets, and capelets are $300, $400, $500. Brides to be take note–there are gowns in cream, ivory, and off white starting at 100! Sale organizers told me that they will not be adding new styles but they will be restocking merchandise daily.

From the looks of her photos… some lovely dresses are up for grabs, just in time for spring. Sale ends on Sunday.
Where/When: 237 Lafayette St (b/w Prince & Spring). February 23 to 27th. Wed-Sat (11-7p), Sun (11-4p).

This sale is amazing. You know how in movies where there’s a drought and the rains come and everyone falls on their knees and cries? I kind of felt like that, because this is the first truly good sample sale in FOREVER. I walked out with 3 pieces, $163 (incl. tax), original retail value $2900. And I only had the chance to look through four racks. Going back tomorrow (and the next day, and the next day) for sure!
Tons of merch, lots of sizes, everything is priced as marked (one lady in front of me in line was a little mad because they had marked two of the same dress in different colors different prices, but the cashier said they couldn’t go through and change everything so they would just honor whatever price was on the tag, no exceptions). Everything is made in the US, amazing quality, and happens to be right up my alley in terms of style too
Thanks for posting this Sally!
Oh, and in other news I also stopped by the Torn by Ronny Kobo sale that is taking place in the BoConcept store in Chelsea — unless you’re a huge fan of the brand, don’t bother. I thought it was a waste of time. There are a few other designers in the store too and those were a little more interesting, but very few racks and the pricing’s not great. Spend your money at Morgane Le Fay instead!
Brilliant analogy, P. I was going to skip this sale. But with your glowing review of the sale, I may have to stop in there. What did you end up getting exactly?
I got three cream/off-white pieces — a top (with a crazy tail) for $35, marked down from $1720(!!!!), a beautiful wrap dress ($75, marked down from $800-something) and another simple sheer top ($40, marked down from $440). All pieces are silk/chiffon and in a cream color (they have all the racks sorted by color).
Can’t wait to go back — I was mostly interested in spring pieces and silks/chiffons, but they also have a lot of black, navy, gray and olive in jerseys and some linens. Definitely go! I’ll be there myself right after work, maybe I’ll see you there!
LOL “P”
A little under the weather but must stop by now.
Did anyone else go? Any luck?
I went back last night and it was a little underwhelming compared to that first night rush. Having more time and a chance to look through the other racks, I realized there’s a big price differential between the different racks — I totally lucked out the first night going only for the cream/bridal racks where it seems most of the under-$50 samples lived. I still walked out with a pale-pink silk sheer top with a peplum and crazy draping down the back ($40 from $800 something, I think?) and silk sleep shorts ($15 from $220), but I definitely had to dig through a lot of stuff, most of it damaged. I also ran into some women last night that I’d met at the sale the first day, guess we all went back for more!
I couldn’t make it last night… thanks for the update. I may stop in this weekend to check out the sale.
I didn’t see any sample prices but I did get this crazy feather dress in Champagne for $200 (orig. $4,000). Strange, same dress in black was on sale for $1,000.

Alert: you will see one item in the same color with diff prices so keep looking till u find the cheapest!
I checked it out a few hours ago and a lot of the under $50 samples were no where to be seen. I guess they’ve all been snatched. Dresses were in the $150-$500 range.
just came back from the sale. still got plenty of dresses. if you find different prices for the same design, they will give it to you for the lower price.
