The Bonpoint sale at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea ends this afternoon. Artsy Anna headed over there first thing this morning at 9am when the doors opened to check out the deals. Even with the discount, Anna found it c’est trop cher:
The second day of the Bonpoint sale is off to a strong start with over 30 shoppers in the room. There’s plenty to choose from for boys and girls and sale associates were folding knits on tables with Gap-like speed and precision.
I found tops, onesies, corduroy and twill pants, dresses, jackets, and snowsuits, and accessories but the standouts of this sale has to be the gorgeous sweaters. All items are 60% off retail. The clothes are really quite beautiful. But even at 60% off they are expensive! I considered an adorable pair of brown suede boots for my little guy, but knowing how fast he grows I couldn’t justify the $100 price tag.
There’s a small selection of women’s pieces toward the rear of the sale room but offerings are limited to two racks of separates. The sale goes until 3 pm today.

dropped by around 2:30pm – a LOT of merchandise still. was hoping for additional discounts but no such luck. agree with anna that even with 60%, prices are still to steep. also, i noticed 40% and 50% stickers on the original price tags (which I was told to ignore). i’m guessing they were already at these discounts at a retail store, so an additional 10-20% isn’t much to get excited about imo.
Well said, Soozy. I really wanted to buy something for my baby boy but these prices for final sale items are just way to high. Especially for babies. They just grow too fast. That said, I saw lots of buyers.
I find the best deals are on onesies (pack of 3 for $45) but again, this is for babies. I used to get lots for my son when he was a baby. The quality is outstanding, especially for these items that get washed so often! In summer I buy t-shirts and shorts. Accessories are usually also well priced. This is a great sale for gifts including baby shower gifts. Also, I have never seen additional discounts on second day.
