The soft comfy knits (perfect for lounging) by Ella Moss & Splendid were up for grabs this morning at their Garment District showroom. Apparently, there was a line before the sample sale started at 9 this morning. But when I got there 15-minutes after they opened the doors, it was all clear. When you enter the space, you’ll need to check your bag before shopping.
Let’s move onto the merchandise and what you’ll find. There’s plenty of stuff for women, kids and babies here. Not a lot for the guys, just two racks of pants, shirts and tees in size medium and large. Everything is organized by size. For women, there was much more smalls than any other size. That said, I did see a number of medium racks (around eight). In the back of the room, you’ll find one rack of large and x-tra large. There’s so much merchandise (tops, dresses, pants, shorts and swimwear) that it is a bit overwhelming. Staffers tried to keep various styles in the same place. My suggestion is to just find your size and go through the racks for anything that catches your eye.
Pricing is pretty good: everything is $75 or under, includes tanks ($15), tops ($20-$25), pants ($30), skirts ($20-$30), dresses ($30-$40) and so on. Check out the price list for the complete listing. An important note: There are no dressing rooms – just the open space where shoppers were stripping down to try things on. In the back, there’s a mirror for those willing to strip down.
I didn’t find anything for myself… but I did pick up a really cute feminine floral dress for one of my nieces. Speaking of kids, there’s quite a selection (from infant sizes to kids size 10). The children’s racks can be found near the front of the showroom. I saw dresses as well as tops & bottoms (for boys and girls). The kids stuff is $15, except for leggings and bloomers which were tagged at $5. Great deals for kids… and a couple of moms with child in tow were snapping up bargains this morning.

NASTY why is that CREATURE in the red shorts standing on a pile of clothes in her BARE FEET its just NASTY
was she raised in a barn?
I used to love this sale but now its become run over by womn who horde things in piles on the floor and crowd the mirror
the prices are not worth the stress
i just left and that it was crazy! some sample sale shoppers may have serious mental issues. why they just throw piles of clothing on the floor i will never understand?!
I agree with crazed and Tanya. The woman who go this sale are the same crew from long island who have ruined Cynthia steffe ..they are all rich, young and married with babies don’t work and have rich husbands who support them. They are PIGS ..they grab all the clothes and pile them on the floor and trade them amongst themselves. If you go near they start speaking Yiddish nastily and won’t let you near the clothing. When they are done they leave the clothes on the floor. Some of them were walking on the clothes in bare feet. Disgusted.
I went to this sale at lunch and it was pretty awful! Almost everything I liked had a hole or a huge stain and honestly the prices werent that great for what was offered. I dont recommend making an effort to get to this sale…
I agree with Megan. I found some cute samples, but they were too simple (design, material) for the price. My friend found a tunic that she really liked, only to find that it was stained in the back.. Double check all the samples before you purchase!
