If you’re in the market for jeans, the Earnest Sewn sample sale in the Meatpacking District is the place to go… There are some great deals here for denim for men, women and kids. For adults, denim is going for $60 each (2 for $50), while kids jeans are just $25. Even a better bargain, women’s samples are only $40, damaged jeans are $30 (but look closely before you crack open your wallet – a pair I picked up had a hole in the crotch while others had minor imperfections). There’s a wide selection of styles (straight leg, boot leg, skinny and flare) as well as a full range of sizes for production pieces, which you’ll find folded in boxes and sorted by size.
Besides denim, there’s other clothing such as men’s button-down shirts (plaid & solids) for $40 (2 for $30), women’s shirts, knits and dresses are also $40 (2 for $30). There were boxes of sweaters for men & women for $40, men’s jackets are tagged at $60. An SA told me that they would be getting “plenty more” jeans tomorrow – about one-thousand pieces, apparently, from the warehouse. The sale is taking place on a second floor space just a couple of doors down from the Earnest Sewn boutique on Washington Street in the Meatpacking District… Sale ends this Sunday.
