The Devi Kroell sample sale started at 8:30 this morning at the label’s showroom on Fifth Avenue south of 13th Street. Just an hour into the sale, merchandise was going fast, especially the label’s coveted handbags (I spotted a few exotic skin bags at $350+, suede hobos at $150, and clutches for $75). As for clothing, several racks could be found in an alcove with a few samples – dresses for under $100, blouses at $50. There were plenty of shoes with the best deals on sample footwear ($50 for sample shoes and sample boots going for $100) – great if your a sample size (37) or 39 & 40. There was also lots of overstock production footwear available in a range of sizes (stock shoes are starting at $100).
If you can’t make it to the sale today, don’t fret. Organizers tell us that they’re expecting another shipment of goods from the brand’s Las Vegas store tomorrow. No word on what the merchandise will be exactly other than overstock and more samples. Last year, this fashion label lost its founder when the designer herself (Devi Kroell) stepped down as CEO and creative director.
