The small Soho showroom where the Candela sample sale is being held was fairy busy on Tuesday afternoon. Many of the shoppers here appeared to be familiar with brand. A few of them held piles of dresses while others tried on shoes. Pricing was pretty good. There were even bargain bins for footwear starting at $5. A couple of women were intently going through those boxes but I didn’t see any takers. The selection was fairly limited and the merchandise looked as if they’d seen better days. At $50 for a pair of sandals/flats, you’re better off sticking to the production footwear. There was a variety of styles, including the Lolli wedge which a couple of shoppers were slipping on and the Dimitri sandal. Boots are a tad bit more priced at $70.
As for the clothing… There seemed to be an abundant of lace & embroidered dresses tagged at $50-$60 (were $225-$375) as well as tops ($40), long skirts ($45). Check out the price list for a complete look. While I was there yesterday, short pleated leather skirts (same one online for $395) was being marked down to $40 (from the sale price of $70). As with many sample sales, there is no dressing room so be prepared to strip down in the middle of the space where there is at least a mirror. I’d advise you to wear a tank and shorts or a skirt for easy changing…
