Going-out-of-business sales at all Betsey Johnson retail stores nationwide began last month… This weekend, Artsy Anna checked out the store on the Upper West Side to find it full of merchandise:
I stopped by the store closing sale at the retail location on Columbus and 71st. Everything is still 40-60% off except for the rack of “classic vintage pieces” which are all priced at $300 and up. There was a good crowd of shoppers this afternoon and most were perusing the party dresses. Dressing rooms are available but some buyers couldn’t wait and were trying on sparkly tops right in the middle of the sales floor. The store still seems reasonably stocked for a going out of business sale despite the fact that some of the fixtures are already marked sold and the shoe selection is sparse.
The design house filed for bankruptcy protection back in April. The closing sale at Betsey Johnson stores around the country is expected to continue until all merchandise has been sold. If you can’t make it into a store, the sale is also available online.
