After a short wait outside Sunday afternoon, we were inside the La Perla Sample Sale. The sale is being held at a different location than the previous sales held near the Plaza where there were crushing lines on the first day in the past. Not so bad on Sunday and that’s because the Flatiron space is much roomier. As before, the bras and panties are organized in bins by size on tables. Depending on your size the selection is varied from sexy lacy numbers to basic plain items that looked like Maidenform.
Here’s the lowdown on prices: The main La Perla (including Black Label and Glamour) bras are $80 each (2 for $140); sister brands – Malizia, Studio and Occhi Verde are $50 each (2 for $80). La Perla panties and garters are $50 each (2 for $80), Malizia, Studio and Occhi Verdi bottoms are $30 each (2 for $50). For a full listing of prices, click below for the photo with the price list.
The lingerie is the main draw here but a selection of swimwear, sleepwear, shoes (very limited) men’s t-shirts are also on offer. While there were mostly women at this sale, some of them brought there boyfriends or husbands. There was one lone guy (really cute) who stuck out. I spotted him intently looking through the bins of bras and panties for something (maybe for his girlfriend). He was even looking through the swimwear bins. He must have spent nearly an hour there (that’s dedication!). But he left empty handed. Sale goes through this Thursday.
