I stopped into NYC-based accessories label PONO‘s spring sample sale in the Garment District hoping to find a birthday gift for a friend. I found her a gift and more… There was such a large selection of bracelets, necklaces, chokers, belts, and so on at up to 80 percent off that I had a tough time trying to decide what to walk out with. Luckily, Designer Joan Goodman was on hand to help me. She showed me some of her favorite pieces and described how some of them were made (check out the video).
I really liked a lot of the resin bracelets and necklaces (prices ranged from $10 to $50). There were faceted, acetate, tortoise shell resins and more. I spotted dyed wood bracelets accented with tiny Swarovki crystals. Also on offer were cow horn bangles which started at $60 for plain ones and went up to $225 for more elaborate laser patterned pieces with fun designs such as ballerinas, penguins, birds and more. If you want to add a little accent on your dog’s collar, there are also horn tags for pets going for $85. PONO is manufactured in Italy and can be found in stores such as Bendels and Nieman Marcus. Sale ends Friday.
Where/When: 132 W. 36 St. 8th Floor (b/w 7th & Broadway). May 17th to May 21. Daily (9-6pm)
