Pearls, Pearls and More Pearls at the Mikimoto Sale

As the saying goes – diamonds are a girl’s best friend.  But pearls are probably the next best thing, especially if the strands are by Mikimoto.  Through tomorrow, the label is hosting a sale at its showroom on Fifth Avenue.  One of our favorite readers, Deme, made it to the sale at the end of the day.  She tells us that plenty of pieces are up to 70 percent off:

The line to get in was 22 deep at 6:20pm today. Once inside, You have to be patient or push your way to the counter. Tons of merchandise from the main high-end line and its low-end Blue Lagoon line. No studs in main line but a great selection of necklaces, bracelets and rings. There is the ubiquitous sample sale color coded discount (50, 60, 65, 70% off). Tons of items with yellow tags (70-percent off). If you’re buying as a gift, be forwarned, they do not give gift boxes and they cut the tags off. Although I saw a lot of men buying stands of pearls and I’m sure their recipients will appreciate them even without the box.

According to Madison Avenue Spy, prices range from $100 for jewels from Mikimoto’s lower end line, Blue Lagoon, to over $10,000 for more extravagant pieces.  Sale ends Friday at 7pm.

Where/When:  680 Fifth Avenue, 4th Floor.  Thru Friday June 18th (10-7pm).  Credit Cards Only.

  1. No line at 2:30. Still decent selection although the choices of strands seem to have gone down. No mid- range strands in Main-line, strands are either less than $3,000 or $9,000 or $20,000.

Highest discount remains at 70% off.
