Inside the Erica Weiner Sample Sale

Erica Weiner Sample Sale

For those of you always searching for unique quirky trinkets or baubles, check out Erica Weiner’s sample sale, which is taking place in Nolita this weekend. There’s something for almost everyone here where you’ll find hand-made vintage-inspired jewelry as well as “old-ass” stock such as 70’s mesh belt bracelets for $10.  The sale started Friday evening. The teeny weeny storefront on Elizabeth Street was buzzing with activity but not too crowded.

On the ledge against the window were earrings for $10 a pair as well as a bowl of vintage name bracelets ($5) – the same ones they had from their last sale. I also spotted a teacup filled with tiny pinky rings (gold plated with rhinestones – $10/for 3). I picked up a few for my nieces since I thought they would make a great gift.  On a table top in the center of the room were lots of necklaces on display average price from $35 to $50. They were all so different – fashioned with all sorts of charms and trinkets. You could get lost just looking at the variety. There were also so-called samples such as bow-tie earrings for $35.  I love how the designer re-purposes the vintage items she finds creating new pieces such as putting together a strand of pearls from Japan with a decades old silver necklace ($50). Items from the current collection are also on sale at 10% to 20% off retail. If you do decide to venture inside, take some time to look at the many pieces around you. If not for you, maybe you’ll find a gift for someone else.

Where/When: 173 Elizabeth Street.  Sept 28 –  Sept 30; Fri (4-8), Sat-Sun (noon-8).
