The press preview is today but I don’t know what time nor will I even try to embarrass myself (lol). If someone makes it I would like to know the scoop and prices.

Checked out the Betsey Johnson sample sale this afternoon. Let’s just say if you’re over 20 years old don’t bother going there. I don’t knkow why but I find BJ’s stuff to be on the tacky side and I just don’t understand why she has all these teenage girls’ following, it turns me off. I went to look for a tshirt and they were too small. Nothing exciting to report but they did have cute dressy dresses that I will not wear anywhere. So, I came out empty handed. Looking forward to Alexander Wang’s sample sale tomorrow.
The door is reallly tough. They’re having a friends and family sale at the moment, and reports are that it’s crazy in there. There’s a list too. The press preview is at 8:30 am tomorrow, but there will also be a list at that time too. Looks like we’ll all have to duke it out with the masses.
Agree with AJ — I stopped by on my way home from work, there is definitely no way anyone is making it in without being checked. I’m not one to try to lie my way through but I did ask about the samples — the nice girl at the door said they would be restocking the samples, i.e. they are not all out tonight. She confirmed tonight is employees only, press preview tomorrow & public opening at 2pm. Looking in, the sale was dimly lit (but fortunately air-conditioned!) and absolutely, insanely packed.
Even though I only live three blocks away, I don’t even know if I’m going to bother tomorrow. For sales this popular, you always have to wait forever in line to get in, fight everyone once you’re inside, then wait forever in line to pay and get out. Either that or you go later and it’s just completely picked over. Lose-lose.
Thanks gals for the update… I also stopped in tonight and the girl at the door was very nice. As AJ mentioned, it was employees day today and press in the morning. Looked like a lot of stuff inside. The past AW sales have been mobbed. Tomorrow will likely be a mad house!
Yay! I got into the Alexander Wang preview this morning. The line was down the block. It was absolutely crazy already. I confirmed that there are no more Roccos left. They were all purchased at the friends and family last night, and there were not that many. There are a few of the clear roccos and a fairly good selection of the other bags. I did not see any other studded bags. The shoes were also mobbed. I would personally go in and check the bag table on the right and then run over to the sample boxes on the left closest to the registers (there are racks of clothing in between). I got some great $10 and $25 samples. There are also racks of $25, $50 and $75 items. Good luck! I was out in 1/2 an hour.
oh, and as Sally mentioned, the staff was really friendly and I also felt that the bag check and the check out line was very organized.
