There wasn’t a line which I didn’t expect because there wasn’t one for me last year. Once I was in, I was surprised to see that it wasn’t that crowded. I started with the sweaters. I saw a lot of Piattelli and Barneys New York sweater going for 50-percent off the original price, which is nothing! I saw some sweaters here and there also 50-percent off from designers like Zegna, Armani, and Mugler. There was a Georgio Armani peacoat styled wool sweater originally $2995, now on sale for over $1100 (still pretty steep). A torn Alexander Mcqueen blue cardigan was priced at $599. There were dress shirts from Zegna, Barneys, and Etro for only $100 off the original price. I spotted a Fendi size 38 belt for $119, which I thought was actually pretty good, but too big for me. Lots of different jackets, but (again) only 50-percent off the original price. As for shoes/boots, there were Barneys, Barneys CO-OP, Gucci, Prada, Dior, and Ann Demeulemeester to name a few that again were only half off… Not that much of a discount.
All in all, the selection, in my opinion, wasn’t THAT bad just not as good as last year. However, the prices were horrible!! I could get better deals at the department stores or the outlets. I would suggest waiting until the last day when the discounts should be better.-Larry The Label
