The Long Wait Outside Dolce & Gabbana’s Sample Sale

This afternoon, the line for the Dolce & Gabbana sample sale stretched down West 18th Street.  The sale started this morning at 9am.  After the Phillip Lim sample sale, I thought I’d check on this sale.  But I just couldn’t see myself waiting in yet another line.  I’ll have to head to this sale another day.  We’re hoping that Sample Sale Diva made it inside… so she can give us a report.  Let us know if you stopped in today and what you found.

Where/When: Metropolitan Pavilion, 123 West 18th St (bet 7th & 8th Ave), 4th Floor. March 24 to March 27th. Thurs (9-7p), Fri & Sat (9-6p), Sun (9-1p).

Sally! The line was terribly slow– good thing you didn’t wait. The clothes were expensive!! Archival items were separated from the racks of RTW and while there were a few gems (i walked away with a gorgeous silk and chantilly lace slip dress from SS2010 for $200– a sample, i think?) everything else i picked up was at least $500 after discount. I hope they slash and burn the last few days.

Thanks for the update, Fashionwhore. Past D&G sales have been similar. But they have traditionally slashed prices towards the end… when I’ve found some great deals. So it might be worth a trip back this weekend. Sounds like you found something nice for a reasonable price…

Sorry Sally I didn’t make it inside. The line was long and did not look like it was moving. From reading fashionwhore’s comments I guess it’s a good thing to wait it out until the weekend.

NP, Diva. I completely understand not wanting to stand in another line. From Fashionwhore’s report, I don’t think you missed much. But let us know if there are any great deals, if you end up checking out the sale tomorrow…

Sorry Sally, I didn’t make it today. Don’t think I will either. I’m hiatus from sample sales for a while. I’ve been bad :-(

I went Friday ~5pm. There was no line at the door. However there were 5 people ahead of me to check my coat and the coat check took ~15 minutes. I can’t imagine how long it took when there was an actual line.

Just went to window shop as I agree with SS, the prices will likely be slashed.

Not as much inventory as in previous sales. Maybe that’s why they’re in the smaller space.
