Memorial Sloan Kettering is kicking off its Celebrate Spring Sale at its Upper East Side Thrift Shop. You’ll find vintage and designer labels at discount prices.  The folks at the thrift shop just sent us a few images of pieces (evening gowns and a cocktail dress) you can find at the shop. They include a Bill Blass white feather evening dress ($450), a vintage black and white satin gown by Gres, Paris ($275) and vintage orange dress with original tags by Leonard ($150). You’ll also find a Vera Wang dress for $195, a Pucci blouse for $140 and Versace pink and black jacket for $185. Worth checking out if you’re in the neighborhood… and it’s for a good cause.
Where/When:  Memorial Sloan-Kettering Thrift Shop, 1440 Third Avenue (btw 81st and 82nd streets). Thru Saturday March 12th. Call the store of hours: 212-535-1250.

Gres!! A bit off the beaten path though. Thanks for info
it is a bit out of the way unless you live nearby. But if you happen to be going to the Metropolitan Museum (the Cezanne mini show is worth the trip), then you should stop in since it’s so close. I’ve found great deals in the past: Jimmy Choo heels, Jil Sander shift dress, Tracy Feith summer dress, and Chanel sweater.
Hi Sally, I live right on E. 82nd and 1st. I will check it out on my way to Barney’s today. I doubt that I will find anything at BWS but a friend of mine ask me to pick up a pair of jeans for him and I waited until the last day to do it. So, you never did get anything at this BWS?
hey diva, you are close to the thrift shop. Let us know if there are any good finds. As for the BWS, I bought nothing for my self this time (first time ever!). For me, the selection was not fabulous… The great thing about this City is that there’s always other sample sales to look forward to.
Hey Sally, the thrift shop was closed today. They really are uppity, huh (to be closed on a Sunday, lol). I stopped at BWS and it was a madhouse. I just wanted to get out of there. There was no line outside (maybe due to the rain) but inside was messy. I did manage to find the cool APC cargo pants that I went crazy looking for my size on the very first day. I snagged them for $31 bucks. That was the only thing I bought. I don’t think the womens section being downstairs worked great. It was awkward and made you feel like you were really at a basement sale.
