Sales Tip: Jil Sander Friends & Family Sale

One of our trusted readers has tipped us off to a Jil Sander friends & family sale that’s apparently open to the public.  Our tipster got an invitation for the sale which started on Wednesday. However, by Thursday evening when she stopped into the showroom on Crosby Street, it was apparently picked over and a mess (just take a look at the photos she managed to snag)…

Most items are reportedly going for 95 percent off the retail price.  She tells us she walked out with T-shirts for $15 and a cashmere vest for $60 (was $1,200).  She reports that there were still plenty of shoes (men & women) but the selection of sizes and styles are limited.  She also tells us that you won’t find many winter coats, pants or dresses.  Sounds like the pieces on sale are overstock from spring. Unlike last April’s sale, this time it’s slim pickings on the offerings.  But if you’re in the neighborhood tomorrow, this sale may be worth checking out.  Sale ends Friday at 5:30pm.  Let us know if you end up popping in…

Where/When:  Jil Sander Showroom, 8 Crosby Street (near Howard).  Take the elevator to the 3rd floor and walk up to the 4th floor. Thru Friday October 29, (10am-5:30pm).

THANK YOU! to the tipster about the Jil Sander sale. To those who are thinking about going, RUN!!

Everything is 95% off the retail price, which is crazy. A girl in front of me bought 4 pairs of shoes for $70 (lace ups).

I bought flats for $15, purple platform pumps for $30, belts for $16, a dress for $150, and a sweater for $50.

People were buying 4-5 pairs of shoes so the inventory is going fast. Pickings are slim, but everyone there looked really really happy, including myself. Thanks for the tip Sally and tipster!

    • I really have to thank the reader who tipped us off on this sale… It’s support from readers like her who make the blog what it is. If you guys know of a sale, be sure to let us know. It’s tips and comments from you that make this site worthwhile… Thanks again!

I’m glad that some of you guys made it to the Jil Sander sale and scored some deals. I stopped in on Friday and picked up a few things. The discounts were amazing! I just wish I could have gone to the first day…

Amazing! i rushed to this one after work, made the tail end of it at quarter to five, and walked right in. there were only about 10 shoppers inside. pretty picked over, but still lots of shoes (very few men’s clothing otherwise). i walked out with a pair of sneakers, sandals, and jeans all for merely $55! the 95% off discount was nuts!

The price point was slightly lower this year (95% off on 1st day as compared to 85% 1st day at last April sale) so that might explain why they had such a busy first day.

I did well also but I think next year (April) I may take a vacation day and go on the first day of the sale. I can’t help think if I’d gone the first day I would have gotten some great winter pieces. There was no winter by the second day.

Off Subject, shouldn’t the Prada sale have occurred by now?

Iseya, I am so unbelievably jealous — I made it there 10 minutes after you, 5 minutes to 5pm on Friday and they said they were closed. You must have been the very last person to make it in. Oh well, I was at least able to score a few pieces at the YSL sale this morning.

I’d love to know about this sale earlier next time, if anyone can help swing that. The sales associate at the Jil Sander store said the sale is really supposed to be for employees only when I asked about getting on an email list for next time. He said he has no idea how word keeps getting out. It’s thanks to wonderful blogs like this! :)

They locked the door early last year as well. So rude.

Last April the sale broke on multiple sites and when I got there they had a mailing list you could sign-up on.

Next sale will likely be in April. I’m sure it will leak and be sure to get there an hour before they claim they r closing.

  • [...] which started this morning… so late that I wasn’t sure I could make it.  But because of their last sample sale back in October, I just had to check this one out.  Before you read on, I must tell you that women [...]
