Ralph Lauren Friends & Family Sale… Invitation Only

The Ralph Lauren friends & family sale takes place at Soiffer Haskin twice a year.  Despite the sale being strictly Invitation Only, it’s still always mobbed.  This season, one of our contributors Discount Di managed to get a shopping pass.  Di made it inside and sent us her report with photos:

I spent about an hour at the Ralph Lauren Family and Friends Sale.  It was the usual madhouse of people pulling items from boxes, trying on sweaters over their own clothes and staffers trying to keep order.   A jumble of colorful ties was the first thing I saw.  I’d previously gotten 5 RL ties here for my boyfriend ($15 each).  He recently wore one to a wedding and he looked sharp!

There was plenty of the Ralph Lauren Collection left.  Few people were checking out these higher priced and high quality items. But I took a look and spotted a Collection satin dresses was tagged at $150 and up, beautiful white linen slacks were just $65 as well as sinewy, silver sweaters ($50) and one teal colored cashmere shrug ($75.)

In the back of the room, there was box after box of casual shoes (no price attached) and snow boots ($60.)   A couple of containers held dozens of leather belts ($10 each).  Shoes were just so-so. The blouse and jacket racks had been pretty well picked over, as well as the casual sweaters.  There were, however, dozens and dozens of sample & stock dresses left for a steal ($15 or $20). There were some blazers ($35,) lightweight neon jackets ($35) and lots of purses and totes ranging from $30 – $75.  I ended up buying 3 dresses, a casual sweater and a belt (total $80).

Where/When:  Soiffer Haskin, 317 W. 33rd St (near 8th Ave), 2nd Floor.  Thru Thursday May 3rd (9-6p).  INVITATION ONLY.
