A couple of noteworthy sales upcoming later this month… the first, one of my fave brands and sample sales takes place next week. We got word from the folks at Jil Sander that they’ll be hosting a sample sale starting next Tuesday. Another chance at getting your hands on designer Raf Simons creations at a fraction of the cost. Be forewarned, the sale does draw a huge crowd where fans are willing to wait hours. On the first day of the last sale back in April, Larry Label Whore waited five hours! By the time I made it inside, the selection was already getting picked through. Due note: this is supposed to be an invite-only sale but in the past, security stopped checking a few hours after the sale started. Also, as in the past, expect to find mostly overstock from the last collection (spring/summer 2012).
Where/When: 8 Crosby Street, 4th Floor. Oct 16-19; Daily (10a-6p).
Another big one is the YSL sample sale which is scheduled to hit Soiffer Haskin the following week. As reported by Mizhattan, this may be the last sample sale for the French brand due to changes at the top with Hedi Slimane taking over. Regardless, those of us who love sample sales will have this one to look forward to. In addition, expect to find long waits at this one as well. So mark your calendars!

Do you know if the Jil Sander sale is, once again, officially invitation only?
Hi Michelle – Invitations were sent out, saying you’ll need them to go to the sale. But in the past, security stopped checking invites a few hours after the doors opened on the first day. Not sure what will happen next week. But I plan on being there on Tuesday and, as usual, will let you guys know.
