Three days after Sandy hit… many businesses are now trying to resume services. A number of retailers are opened today hoping to get back to the business of selling. One of them is Soiffer Haskin who sent out a notice this morning that they’re opening their doors and continuing with the Ippolita sample sale. The markdown has been reduced to 70% off retail on gold, silver and rosé necklaces, bangles, rings, and earrings. Click here to see our coverage of the label’s sample sale earlier this year. Where/When: Soiffer Haskin, 317 W. 33rd St (near 8th Ave). Thru Nov 1st; Wed-Thurs (9-7p). Credit Card Only.
Other sample sales had to postpone today’s start date… they include the Under Armour sample sale at 260 Fifth Avenue where discounts will be offered on workout gear. That sale is now scheduled to start tomorrow (Thursday). Fashionable Femme Jen walked by the space yesterday and sent us a photo as did one of our readers. Where/When: 260 Fifth Ave (b/w 28th & 29th Streets). Nov 1-Nov 4th: Thurs-Sat (10-7p), Sun (10-4p).
Another sample sale that’s been postponed is the Furla handbag sale at Clothingline which is expected to feature deals on clutches, totes, handbags, messengers and more. That’s now scheduled to start on Sunday, November 25th.

hey, did you receive any message from united nude? will they postpone their sample sale if subway is not running tomorrow?
Hi Betty – Yes, United Nude has been postponed. It was suppose to start tomorrow… When I hear from them about the new date, I’ll let you guys know.
Sally, I finally dug the new date from their Facebook, it will be next Thursday.
Lower Manhattan still doesn’t have power and cell service is spotty. I heard it may be the weekend before we’re back on!
Hi Sally, Is the Ippolita sale any good, any lines? Anything to share? I spent a whole lot of money the last time. Just wondering if I should go pick up a another pair of earrings I really dont need.
Hi Roberta – I haven’t been over there today so I’m not sure about lines. But last time, the final markdown was at 70% off retail and they had some pretty good deals, including resin bracelets at $35 and necklaces at $50. If you’re near there, might be worth checking out. Let us know if what you find, if you happen to wander in…
Hi Sally – Have you heard any updates about the Alexander Wang sale? It was supposed to start on Tuesday the 6th, but it sounds like all of downtown is still without power… Thanks!
Hey there! No word on the Alexander Wang sample sale… as you know, much of lower Manhattan is still without power. I’m sure they’re trying to figure out if they can have a sale next week. If I hear of anything, I’ll let you guys know…
I went to the ippolita sale..ladies y didn’t miss much unless are a fan of the rock candy collection ..very little rose ..a lot of necklaces with colored stones prices at $500 and up
Thanks, ShP for the update.
Any updates on the wang sale????
Jenna – Still no word on whether the AW sample sale will take place this week. I’m not even sure if the store on Grand Street is opened. I tried calling and no one answered. As Jen said – most of lower Manhattan just got power restored this weekend.
Most of lower manhattan got power back yesterday. Sounds like the sale can still happen as scheduled.
