Yesterday… Soiffer Haskin slashed prices at The Row sample sale down 80% off the original retail price (not including sunglasses). This was a much better discount than the start of the sale. Since I’m a fan of the line’s minimal design, I decided it was time to check out the goods. I went in the afternoon when the space was fairly quite. The selection has definitely thinned out. But there was still lots on offer, including knits, dresses, tops/shirts, pants and more.
The samples were still plentiful – separates hanging on two long racks; one filled with pieces in black. Other colors such as white, cream, pastels and navy are available on the other rack. Many of the samples were size 2 or 4. One woman scored a gorgeous black leather sample jacket (priced at around $500 after the discount). Among the samples, I spotted a pair of olive suede trousers for $74 (was $375). Unfortunately, they were too large. However, I did get a great deal on a cashmere sample sweater which was mismarked. Thanks to the cashier, I only paid $40 for it! There were also some lovely knits (tops) made out of silk and reasonably priced at this point ($100 and under). A table with T-shirts and tanks are now tagged at $50 and under. Handbag styles are dwindling. I spotted a few Day Luxe totes (originally $5,200) and lizard skin metal frame clutches (originally $5,800). While the sunglasses weren’t included in the additional discount, there were a number of shoppers looking at the choices. Sale ends tomorrow at 5pm. Depending on today’s turnout, they may reduce sale prices even further.
Where/When: Soiffer Haskin, 317 W. 33rd St. (just west of 8th Avenue). Thru Sunday Sept 23rd, (9-5p).

Ladies… The Row just hit 90% off retail. Just left there and there still lots of apparel left (but thinning out). All clothing is 90% off, handbags (only one left – lizard skin) is at 80% as are belts and sunglasses. Considering the current markdown, if you’re in the neighborhood, I suggest stopping in before today’s 5pm closing.
Also just got back from there. You can’t beat pants of this quality for under $100. Totally worth stopping by if you’re in the area.
