We got word early this morning that sale organizers at Soiffer Haskin have slashed sale prices at the Mulberry Sale in Midtown. No details on the reduction.
Yesterday after work, we stopped in to find no line and a few shoppers browsing the sale floor. In the middle of the room were plenty of handbags on display at 70% off retail. The selection included lots of Somerset satchels and totes in black and brown (under $300), quite a few Maisie styles such as the sheepskin Maisie clippers ($660) and snake print Maisie shoulder bags, Anthony messenger bags ($234). There were lots of other NY Clipper satchels which commemorates the opening of Mulberry’s first flagship in New York City ($285). There were several Effie hobos in brown which caught our eye for under $300. In the small accessories table, there were still some wallets and clutches on offer.
As for clothing, there was a very limited selection (at 75% off retail) hanging on racks and a table of knits near the dressing room. We liked one of the leather jackets ($525, orig. $2,300), which looked good on the hanger but the ruffle trim in front wasn’t flattering on us. A blue tweed coat also caught our eye but at $700 (orig. $2,800), it was a bit too pricey for us.
The shoes (all come in hot pink shoe boxes) are against a wall. We spotted lots of sandals, some flats. The only style we did like were the knee high boots for $275 (orig. $1,100).
We hear that they WON’T be restocking… As mentioned above, we have no word on details of today’s additional discount.
