The Avalon Group Showroom in the far west end of Chelsea saw a mad rush today as the after work crowd showed up for the Fred Perry biannual sample sale. This sale is always very well-organized (men’s in one section and women’s in another). There’s always lots of merchandise on offer here.
This time like previous sales, there are great deals to be had. Let’s start with menswear since there’s more for him than her. As you walk into the space, you’ll see a rack of men’s polos ($40) in a range of sizes. If you can’t find your size on the rack, just ask. Apparently, there are more sizes in boxes on the floor. On the other side of the polos are button up shirts (long-sleeved at $60 and short-sleeved at $50) in solids and all sorts of patterns. Along the walls are a range of shoes for $40 as well as accessories such as belts.
In the women’s section, there are amazing deals on sample polos, tennis dresses and tops which are going for just $20 as well as shoes. The fall shoes are $40 and sneakers are just $5. The only catch is all of them are samples which are size 6. If that’s your size, your in luck! Also on offer are the collaboration pieces which are 50% off the retail price (a Richard Nicoll collab leather dress was $318 and a leather top at $198). There are also pieces from the Scottish made brand, DS Dundee (outerwear $200, sweaters $100, trousers $80, shirts $80). There’s also a mix of bags such as a leather duffle going for $178 and a canvas bag for $57. Also on sale were hat & ties ($30), sunglasses ($80), wallets ($40) and more.
