The DKNY sample sale kicked off this morning to the public in the Flatiron District. Yesterday (Monday), sale organizers at 260 Fifth Avenue opened the doors for a preview. There was no line in the late afternoon. Inside, a few shoppers were browsing and some were lined up waiting to get into the dressing room in the back.
The space was filled with lots of merchandise – many from this current spring/summer season. Women’s apparel hung on racks (organized by size from 0-14) on the main floor. Signs for pricing were posted on columns throughout the space. The deals weren’t too bad – dresses were going for $85, skirts/blouses/sweaters were priced at $50, bottoms – including pants, skirts and shorts were all tagged at $40, jackets were now going for $125 and leather for $250 ( you can see a complete list of pricing by looking below for the image of the price list).
Near the cash registers were a slew of handbags in all sorts of styles and sizes ($75 for large bags, $40 for small ones). In one corner stood a rack of swimwear for $20. You’ll find the footwear way in the back (all shoes/sandals are $30, boots at $50). Also on offer was a limited selection of pieces from the Donna Karan Collection which included mostly earth tone draped jersey dresses for $125.
The men’s merchandise was located along one wall, including suits ($125), shirts ($30), pants ($40), jackets ($125) and more. On a table were a limited selection of shoes ($30). The sale goes through this Saturday…
