Today (Thursday) is your last chance at getting a deal on Loro Piana at Soiffer Haskin. The sale ends at 5pm this afternoon. That said, I question whether the merchandise is that much of a bargain. I made a quick stop this morning just to see what the markdown was like on this last day only to be disappointed. I wasn’t alone. I overheard two women who were surveying the handbags saying that the sale prices were still too much.
Loro Piana is all about luxury; the clothing and accessories are made in Italy of the highest quality yarns and the price points reflect that. Think plush soft cashmere sweaters, coats, jackets, pants, skirts and more. Plus, supple leather boots and handbags. Today, the discount on women’s clothing (including sweaters) dropped down to 60% off retail. That translated to the following: cashmere scarves at $300 and some of the really nice lightweight printed ones at $642 (was $1,070), cashmere cable sweaters at $340 (was $850), a cashmere winter coat is now $2,120 ($5,300). Women’s handbags & shoes are 70% off – a cream-colored hobo is now $540 (was $1,070), a shoulder bag is $900 (was $3,000), knee-high boots at $640 ($1,600). The limited selection of kids clothes were also 70% off retail. The only real deal I spotted were driving gloves at 80% off, now tagged at $74 (was $370). You decide if these prices are a bargain..
