Some of you have asked about the selection at the Rebecca Minkoff sample sale so I thought I’d check out the scene of day two at 260 Fifth Avenue in the Flatiron. While there was no line outside, it was a different story inside. I must say girls really love their handbags! It was mobbed as shoppers snapped up all sorts of styles. The bags lay on tables all mixed up. And trying to make sense of pricing was difficult. There were fliers with pictures of styles and prices tacked up throughout the walls and columns. But it wasn’t easy to figure out what was what since bags weren’t in the right place. I do have to say that there’s so much merchandise left here.
A sea of handbags thrown, tossed and scattered on tables was very overwhelming. There were so many shoppers grabbing and clutching handfuls of bags. You’re bound to find something that suits your style here (clutches, satchels, hobos, cross-bodies, totes, duffle bags and more). Staffers kept restocking. How much stuff did they have in the back? At one point, a staffer put out several black quilted studded bags and a number of girls quickly nabbed them.
As with previous sales, the handbags are the draw here with markdowns at 30-70% off the original retail price. For those of you wondering, there’s no further reductions yet. (Maybe this weekend the price slashing will start). Also on offer were a few racks of ready-to-wear in a corner. But there were few takers. In the very back, you’ll find footwear – displayed on tables. Find a style you like, and a staffer behind the counter will get your size. All sorts of shoes can be had: sandals, flats, heels, boots, strappy numbers and more.
The wait at this sale was for the registters, as the line snaked down to the back of the large space. If you’re feeling faint from all this shopping, staffers were thoughtful enough to have coconut water (Vita Coco) on hand for those needing to hydrate. If you haven’t made it here yet, you have time since the sale goes through this Sunday…

I truly do not understand this sample sale
The prices arent great and can do better at Loehmanns
I once caved in and bought a Mac and it ripped at seams so my impression of the bags isnt the finest quality
at least at botkier 9a comparable mid priced designer) the samples are priced accordingly and the bags are well made
but why not take your money and buy a designer bag ..you might as well if you are paying thsi much
