Price is Right at the Theory & Helmut Lang Sale

Clothingline is hosting a Theory and Helmut Lang sale this week in the Garment District.  You’ll find actual samples and what sale organizers call “slight irregulars” for up to 90-percent off.  The space was very busy late yesterday as fans of the the two brands rushed over after work to see what could be had.  Theory merchandise dominated this sale taking up all of the back and most of the main area of the space.  There were racks of dresses ($45), tons of tops (both knits and wovens for $30) were hanging along the walls, blazers ($55), lots of pants at $35 and some skirts for $30.

As for Helmut Lang pieces, there were several racks of tops/skirts ($30), dresses ($45), knits ($40), pants ($35).  I saw a few knits that I liked but the ones I picked up in my size were snagged.  If you looked hard enough, you’ll see some things that are in good condition such as a cropped-neck bias cut dress (now $45, was $425) in heather gray which caught my eye.  I also spotted an entire rack of black leather leggings for $75.

As you walk in, you’ll also find AG Jeans (going for around $50) hanging on racks.  There were also shoes:  Sue London ballet flats for $40 (was $168) and Dieppa Restrepo Oxfords are $60.  The price is right at this sale but be warned some of the items are damaged (ripped and torn in places and snagged).  Try-ons are allowed this time around in a dressing room near the cash registers.  But sale organizers promptly close the dressing room 30 minutes before closing.  And if you’re familiar with Clothingline, they’re very strict about not allowing anyone to try-on anything on the sales floor.

Where/When: Clothingline, 261 W. 36th St (b/w 7th & 8th Aves), 2nd Floor.  July 19 – July 22 (11-7pm).
