Purdy Girl Hosts Francis by Christian Francis Roth Sample Sale

NYC’s Purdy Girl boutique on the Upper West Side is hosting a sample and stock sale for Christian Francis Roth who is known for his colorful and offbeat designs.  On offer are pieces from his new line, Francis, which are going for up to 75 percent off.  Today is the last day of the sale.  Artsy Anna ventured into the store this weekend and gives us a look at some of the sale items:

As a former uptown girl, I know Purdy Girl pretty well but not Francis–or so I thought until I walked into the parlor style sale room in the back of the Purdy Girl store.  Immediately, I recognized the rugby stripe dress that I passed up earlier this week at Calypso for $29 (originally $219). At this sale, however, the same dress was three times the price at $99.  It turns out Francis is new line by designer Christian Francis Roth, a 90′s darling of the fashion world.

There are three racks of sporty frocks, miniskirts, and cropped blazers on offer from the Francis Spring 2009 Gangs of New York collection. While discounts weren’t deep enough for my bargain basement standards, items in the collection are fresh, cheerful, and fun. Prices are 50-75% off retail–$89 to $189 down from $200 to $400.

While I was looking around, there weren’t many takers for the Francis line but Purdy Girl’s sidewalk sale outside their store proved more of a draw for fellow shoppers.  Expect to find separates from Yag, BB Dakota and others marked down to $39.
