Hi Sally: They went 60% off today on women’s designer. It was CRAZY in there today. The snow was the best thing to happen to Barney’s. And the checkout line was long. That said, I didn’t buy anything.

I doubt that the discounts will be as good as last August (75% off women’s designer clothing). You guys are right about the mark downs this year and the choices…not so fabulous. I will check out the sale on Saturday and do another post – for all those wanting to know.

In August, the best hunting was the Friday before the end (equivalent of today). That was when the discounts reached their peak and there was still stock. There were no further discounts on the final Saturday or Sunday despite persistant blog rumors.

Personally I think these discounts are a bit weak still. I won’t go back unless I hear about some 75% off signs. My closet is stuffed with things from previous WH sales that haven’t gotten enough wearing.

(P.S. Remember how much 50% vs. 75% matters. A $400 shirt at 50% off is $200. At 75% off it’s $100.)

i’ve been disappointed with the barney’s sale the last couple of years. the final weekend used to be awesome – an extra 75% off, and there used to be a good selection. recently the selection is meh and the discounts top out at 50%. at least for the mens clothing! sample sales are better.

I love the Marni boots… with all the snow we’ve been getting this season, I did consider buying the Prada wader boots with the calf garters for $300! I might check tomorrow if they’re still there. Hopefully, for an extra 50% off.
