Another spot I stopped into Friday night was the crowded small shop on Lafayette St, In God We Trust. Here, the deals are the brand’s signature jewelry which were tagged at $10 or $20. At the back of the store, you’ll find a case where the baubles are kept. I spotted [...]
London-based beauty outlet Space.NK Apothecary is hosting a blowout beauty sale this weekend. You’ll find a large selection of skincare products incredibly marked down – they’re practically giving away some of the items. Anything that’s on sale (most are up to 75 percent off already) is now going for an additional [...]
Here’s a chance at getting your hands on British designer Alice Temperley’s clothing at affordable prices… through this Sunday, Temperley London is hosting a fall/winter sale at the label’s SoHo boutique where select merchandise is up to 75 percent off. I really like the label’s aesthetic; rock ‘n roll with romance [...]
Cole Haan kicked off its sample sale over the weekend at Soiffer Haskin. When I stopped in, I noticed that the handbags were a huge hit. Forget the shoes, most of the women went straight for the the two long tables where handbags of all sizes, clutches and wallets [...]
French designer Barbara Bui is holding a two-day end of season sale offering 70 percent off everything from the 2009 fall collection. A Sally source who found some great deals yesterday morning reports that the sale is well worth checking out.
There were really great select pieces in black, gray and beige; pants, shoes, [...]
The J.Crew sample sales at Clothingline have taken place so often over the past few months that I can’t keep track anymore. This week, samples and stock from J.Crew, Madewell and Crewcuts are on offer at the sale spot in the Garment district. The place was busy but not mobbed after [...]
American shoe designer H Williams has teamed up with Italian label Krizia for a sample sale that starts today at Krizia’s Upper East Side boutique. Merchandise will be 60 to 75 percent off retail. Where/When: 805 Madison Ave. Call for store hours (212-879-1211).
For me, Jil Sander’s second +Jcollection for Uniqlohas lived up to last season‘s standards. The German designer’s spring line for the Japanese retailer launched this week on January 14th in New York. A departure from her debut line, Sander has lightened the colors and the fabrics. A muted palette prevails, ranging from whites and ivories to pastels in high tech synthetics and cottons.  This new line offers great elegant basics rather than wardrobe stand-outs. Sander says: “I wanted to move away from sporty stereotypes towards a more tailored, pared-down elegance.”
As with the debut collection, the second +J range includes coats and jackets, pants and skirts, shirts, sweaters, cardigans and t-shirts, with prices ranging from $15.50 to $149.50. What caught my eye were the light-weight cashmere pullovers and cardigans ($99.50), classic trench coats in black and beige ($99.50), the waist sache jacket ($79.50) and slim skirts ($39.50).
When I heard that the Shoe-Inn was holding another warehouse sale, I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised. They couldn’t sell all of the thousands of pairs of footwear they put out in the last sale, especially when many of them just weren’t worth buying. Could there actually be buyers for all these [...]
