Are you headed to a Caribbean island or other warm destination this winter? If so, you might want to check out the Miguelina sample sale in Midtown. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I walked into the showroom after work. What I found was a calm atmosphere and merchandise that might have come from an exotic island bazaar – a quirky mix of deals, including plenty of flirty feminine pieces. So many vibrant colorful things, including the label’s signature silk camisole tops trimmed with delicate lace ($35) as well as silk and cotton gauze dresses ($45-$80). I really liked some of the silk dresses. They reminded me of Hollywood glam in the 40s.
There were fabric and leather bags for $25. A lot of the accessories were priced at less than $20 such as vintage rhinestone pins, brown velvet evening bags, 70s-inspired belts, necklaces, scarves, bangles and more. Two-piece bikinis in turquoise, purple, blue, black and white are $25. Great finds for warmer climes.
I went with my Italian friend, Eva, who bought a claret-colored silk scarf for $10. I ended up getting a black silk slip for $18.
