Prices were good but the pickings were slim at the Catherine Malandrino sale in Chelsea’s Metropolitan Pavilion. Since this was the first day, I wonder if all the good stuff walked out the door earlier in the day. I did notice that a lot of the merchandise was piled up in the dressing room – [...]  SoHo-based designer Laura Poretzky auctioned off some of her key Abaeté pieces. The event kicked off the brand’s three-day sample sale. Up for bid were the same style dresses that celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Eva Longoria and Sandra Bullock have worn as well as actual runway pieces. The bidding for all the items started [...] I couldn’t believe my eyes when I walked into this sale… the amount of merchandise was staggering. Both the Italian high-end (Dolce & Gabbana) and D&G lines are discounted. The D&G folks managed to fill the Metropolitan Pavilion on 18th Street with lots of goods – dresses, skirts, pants, and all sorts of accessories from [...] No line outside the Tracy Reese sample sale when I stopped in first thing this morning. There was a line at the cash register and the dressing room. This is the first day of the sale. There appeared to be lots of dresses to be had, mostly Reese’s Plenty line. I’m a small so I [...] I checked out the Kate and Jack Spade sample sale in Midtown just before they shut the doors tonight. I didn’t have a lot of time to look but I quickly took a survey and noticed a lot of merchandise left – great handbags for work and fun summer totes. There wasn’t a lot of [...] At Mina, celebrity stylist Irene Albright has taken out her collection of designer clothing from her showroom and put them on sale in her East Village gallery boutique. You’ll find Marc Jacobs, Chloe, Balenciaga, Lanvin, Dior and more at 80% off retail. The selection includes ready-to-wear, eveningwear, plenty of shoes and a limited selection of [...] MINT Jodi Arnold has set up a pop-up shop in Soho where spring merchandise is 60% off the retail price. The shop is spacious with high ceilings and the racks of clothing are lined along the walls. When I stopped in Thursday night, I found a DJ spinning tunes and wine was being [...] Stopped by Inven.tory Thursday night to check out the Devotte spring/summer shoe collection and found lots of fun styles for the summer. The footwear is up to 60% off.
