Even after waiting in line at 8:30am, many women walked out empty handed, including me. There was no scoring a fabulous handbag here. The items on sale were expensive. The high-end brand’s sought-after handbags were mostly 60% off the regular price. The medium [...] It’s a rare occurrence for Roberto Cavalli to hold a sample sale. Apparently, the Italian designer’s last official sample sale was three years ago. Monday night, a few shoppers were at the Altman building in Chelsea browsing the racks. The brand’s ready-to-wear and couture collections are discounted at up to 80% off the regular price.
